M+W Group has been recognised in the UK as the ‘International Company of the Year’ at the prestigious SWITA regional awards ceremony.
Organised by South West Business Insider Magazine, a monthly publication for UK companies based in South West England, the awards are given to local companies that have excelled at exporting the very best products and services around the world.
Decided by an assessment panel comprising judges from across the region, M+W Group with about €2.5 bn turnover in 2014 was selected as the award winner in the category for companies with an annual turnover in excess of €72 million. In their report recommendation, the judges cited the company’s success in winning major contracts in new markets in both the nuclear and waste to energy sectors, as well as the company’s commitment to the training and development of its people.
South West Business Insider editor Miri Thomas said "It may sound like a cliché, but the world is getting smaller. Exports are therefore fundamental to continued sustainable growth. M+W Group was chosen for its commitment to promoting South West based engineering and innovation to a global audience."
Collecting the award, Spencer Baber M+W Group Managing Director (UK) stated, “I am incredibly proud to collect this award on behalf of everybody that has worked so hard to achieve the success that we have had. The South West has long been a core centre of engineering excellence for us and we believe is only going to go from strength to strength in the years to come”.
